Development of Silicon technology will reach the limit in about 10 years. One of the founders of Intel as well as semiconductor chip pioneer Gordon Moore predicts that Moore’s Law has become a reference for the development of Silicon chip technology will not be valid anymore.

Since making its first Silicon chip in 1965, Gordon Moore predicted that became known as Moore’s Law states that the number of transistor in a chip of the computer chip every two years. Moore’s Law has more than 40 years dictate chip semiconductor industry to continue to make a breakthrough technology to reach that goal.

Both Moore and many states actually begin to doubt of Moore’s Law several times before. However, thanks to technology that allows Intel and other chip manufacturers can reduce the size of the components, the number of transistor in a computer chip can be added continuously. Moreover, increased up to twice the latter has happened every 18 months.

Finally, in January 2007 Intel announced a breakthrough  block in the development of semiconductor after more than 40 years standing. By adding material hafnium metal gates and in the process of the chip, they can maintain the claim of Moore’s Law until now.

However, conference participants in front of the two techniques to the annual Intel-10 in San Francisco, USA, on Tuesday (18 / 9), Moore said when a development will hit a fundamental problem, so Moore’s Law can not apply again. He estimates it will probably happen shortly in about 10 years from now.

“I want to once again after 100 years and see what happens then,” he said daydream. When asked what to do if the seat back to the lecture again, Moore says her interest in biology. According to him, make a gateway between computer and biological topic is most interesting at this time.

Moore who is now aged 78 years to establish Fairchild Semiconductor became the embryo of Intel in 1968 with Bob Noyce colleagues after leaving the company owned transistor inventor William Shockley. He had occupied the position of vice president of Intel until 1975 before becoming president and CEO. In 1979 he was elected to the chairman and CEO until a permanent in 1987. Last term he was given the chairman emeritius since 1997.
